Council Proceedings January 17, 2022

The Hospers City Council met in regular session on Monday, January 17, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. with Mayor Dykstra presiding. Council members present: Zevenbergen, Otto, Thompson, Kramer and Vander Wilt. City Clerk present.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Zevenbergen to approve the January 17, 2022, Agenda. Carried.

Motion by Thompson, seconded Vander Wilt to approve the payment of unpaid bills. Carried.

Motion by Thompson, seconded Vander Wilt to approve the December month-end reports. Carried.

Motion by Thompson, seconded Zevenbergen to adopt the U.S. Government mileage rate of .585 cents per mile as the mileage rate payable to City employees for any business miles driven. Carried.

Public hearing for real estate sale opened at 5:37 p.m. and closed at 5:50 p.m., no written or oral objections. Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Kramer to approve Resolution No. 2022-01-17 Approving real estate sale to Tim and Laurie Jungers. Roll call vote taken: aye Zevenbergen, aye Otto, aye Thompson, aye Vander Wilt and aye Kramer. Resolution passed.

Motion by Zevenbergen, seconded Kramer to approve Resolution No. 2022-01-13 Approving Siouxland Press as the official newspaper for publications. Roll call vote taken: aye Zevenbergen, aye Otto, aye Thompson, aye Vander Wilt and aye Kramer. Resolution passed.

Motion by Kramer, seconded Vander Wilt to approve Resolution No. 2022-01-14 Approving American State Bank and Iowa Public Agency Investment Trust as the depositories for the City of Hospers. Roll call vote taken: aye Zevenbergen, aye Otto, aye Thompson, aye Vander Wilt and aye Kramer. Resolution passed.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Kramer to approve Resolution No. 2022-01-12 Approving the Transfer of Funds from the City’s General Fund to the Hospers Fire Department. Roll call vote taken: aye Zevenbergen, aye Otto, aye Thompson, aye Vander Wilt and aye Kramer. Resolution passed.
