Council Proceedings October 3, 2022

The Hospers City Council met in regular session on Monday, October 3, 2022, 7:00 PM at the Hospers City Hall with Mayor Dykstra presiding. Council members present: Thompson, Zevenbergen, Otto, Kramer and Vander Wilt. The City Clerk was also present.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Zevenbergen to approve the October 3, 2022 Agenda. Carried.

Motion by Thompson, seconded Kramer to approve the payment of unpaid bills. Carried.

Reviewed quotes received for street overlay. Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Zevenbergen to approve street overlay on 3rd Avenue from Fir to Cedar Street with 2 inches of overlay and no grinding by Fuller & Sons. Carried.

Discussed the 2nd Ave S Project. City was awarded $300,000 from the Community Development Block Grant. City will contact NW Iowa Planning for them to complete their CDBG environmental review.

Discussed the leaf removal in the city that is set to take place on each Monday and Thursday during the period of October 3 through November 17.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Thompson to approve JD & Gabbie Coons’ building permit with adjustments. Carried.

Motion by Kramer, seconded Otto to approve Kendall Ruschmann’s building permit. Carried.

Tabled Eric Pohlen’s building permit for 106 Highland Ave.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Zevenbergen to approve the October 3, 2022 meeting Minutes. Carried.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Kramer to adjourn at 7:43PM. Carried.
