Council Proceedings May 19, 2025
The Hospers City Council met in regular session on Monday, May 19, 2025, 5:30 PM at the Hospers City Hall with Mayor Dykstra presiding. Council members present: Kooistra, Thompson, Schipper and Jager. Council members absent: Otto. The City Clerk was also present.
Motion by Schipper, seconded Jager to approve the May 19, 2025 Agenda. All ayes, motion carried.
Open forum at 5:30 PM. Daniel Hall, Leo Rodriguez, and Rosa Rodriguez were present to discuss a city nuisance.
Jacob Evans with People Service Inc, was present to discuss current water and wastewater items.
Motion by Thompson, seconded Kooistra to approve the payment of unpaid bills. All ayes, motion carried.

Mayor Dysktra called the Public Hearing regarding the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Amendment #2 to open at 5:58 PM. No oral comments or written comments were received. Motion by Thompson, seconded Jager to approve closing the public hearing at 5:59 PM and approve said amendment. All ayes, motion carried.
Reviewed the building permit for William and Karissa Piercey. Permit tabled until side yard measurements are provided to ensure right-of-way setbacks are met.
Mayor Dysktra accepted the appointment of Cara Livermore to the Library Board with the councils approval, Thompson abstained from the decision.
Discussed which trees at the South Side Park and Ball Diamond will be removed by Schwebach Tree Service.
Motion by Schipper, seconded Jager to approve the May 19, 2025 meeting Minutes. All ayes, motion carried.
Motion by Kooistra, seconded Schipper to adjourn at 6:16PM. All ayes, motion carried.
