Council Proceedings February 16, 2015
The Hospers City Council met in regular session on February 16, 2015, at 5:30 p.m. with Mayor Rouse presiding. Council members present: Hulst, Schulz, Solsma and Whitmore.
Jodi Schwake was present to discuss the PeopleService report. Tyler Evenhuis was present to discuss City issues.
Tom Tapper of Gobblestop Turkey Shop, LLC was present to discuss the concession stand for the 2015 ball season. Discussed some changes to the concession stand that needed to take place in order to accommodate them. Tom was given the “Rental/Equipment Agreement” to review, sign and return to the City Office prior to receiving concession stand keys.
Motion made by Hulst, seconded by Whitmore to approve the Minutes of the February 2, 2015, meeting. Motion carried all ayes.
Review of the 2015-2016 Budget and motion made by Solsma, seconded by Hulst to accept same. Motion carried all ayes. Motion made by Solsma, seconded by Hulst to approve the 2015-2016 Budget public hearing date of March 2, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. Motion carried all ayes.
Motion made by Schulz, seconded by Whitmore to approve the payment of unpaid bills, excluding the Danko Emergency Equipment bill and the Federal Signal Corporation bill. Also, we will only be paying half of the Schlotfeldt Engineering, Inc. bill at this time. Motion carried all ayes.

Motion made by Whitmore, seconded by Hulst to approve the January Clerk’s Report and Income Statement. Motion carried all ayes.
Discussion regarding the FEMA 2014 Lagoon Access Road project. We will move forward with rebidding the project over again. The hearing date to open sealed bids will be April 6, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. City Clerk will advise Wayne Schlotfeldt of Schlotfeldt Engineering, Inc. of same.
The building permit of Premium Iowa Pork was reviewed. Motion made by Schulz, seconded by Hulst to approve same. Motion carried all ayes.
Discussion regarding the Hulst and Toering properties. Discussion regarding the property of 110 3rd Avenue N.
The City Council discussed the possible purchase of a pay loader from Hawke & Co. Motion made by Solsma, seconded by Hulst to proceed with further negotiations in this regard. Motion carried all ayes.
Motion made by Schulz, seconded by Hulst to adjourn at 7:00 p.m. Motion carried all ayes.
