Council Proceedings February 2, 2015

The Hospers City Council met in regular session on February 2, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. with Mayor Rouse presiding.  Council members present:  Hulst, Schulz, Solsma and Hamblin.

Motion made by Schulz, seconded by Hamblin to approve the Minutes of the January 19, 2015, meeting.  Motion carried all ayes.

Motion made by Solsma, seconded by Hamblin to approve the payment of unpaid bills, excluding the Danko Emergency Equipment bill.  Motion carried all ayes.

The prepay amounts for the BFS 2015 Lawn Care were reviewed.  Motion made by Hulst, seconded by Schulz to move forward with the 5-step program without aeration.  Motion carried all ayes.

Motion made by Hulst, seconded by Schulz approving the Annual Urban Renewal Report for fiscal year 2013-2014.  Motion carried all ayes.

Darren Hulst reminded the Mayor and City Council of the Quasquicentennial Celebration meeting coming up on Thursday, February 5th at 7:00 p.m.  Ideas for the Quasquicentennial were discussed.

Discussion regarding fixing of fire hydrants, flushing of hydrants, and flushing of sewers.  This will be done every April and September from this point forward.

Discussion regarding the Ordinance the City has on fireworks.  There will be no changes to our current Ordinance.

Motion made by Hamblin, seconded by Schulz to adjourn at 7:55 p.m.  Motion carried all ayes.
