Council Proceedings January 19, 2015
The Hospers City Council met in regular session on January 19, 2015, at 5:30 p.m. with Mayor Rouse presiding. Council members present: Hulst, Schulz, Solsma, Hamblin and Whitmore.
Jodi Schwake of PeopleService present. Discussion regarding the ammonia continuing to be high.
Nathan Overberg of Ahlers & Cooney, P.C. (on behalf of the City), Dan Paquin and Scott Johnson of Premium Iowa Pork, and Michael Washburn or McClure Engineering were present to discuss the wastewater facility and the proposed changes to same. The City has given the okay to move forward with this project as long as the City does not assume the debt in doing same.
Tyler Evenhuis present. The City Council and Mayor gave Tyler a few things to address.
Motion made by Hamblin, seconded by Hulst to approve the Minutes of the January 5, 2015, meeting. Motion carried all ayes.
Motion made by Whitmore, seconded by Schulz to approve the payment of unpaid bills, excluding the Danko Emergency Equipment bill. Motion carried all ayes.

Motion made by Hulst, seconded by Whitmore to approve the December Clerk’s Report and Income Statement. Motion carried all ayes.
Motion made by Solsma, seconded by Schulz to approve the 2015 IRS business mileage rate to be used by the City of Hospers employees when traveling for work. Motion carried all ayes.
Bunkers Feed Supply 2015 lawn care sign up sheet discussed. This matter has been tabled until the next meeting.
Motion made by Schulz, seconded by Whitmore to adjourn at 6:45 p.m. Motion carried all ayes.
