The Hospers City Council met in regular session on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 7:00 PM with Mayor Dykstra presiding. Council members present: Zevenbergen, Thompson, Otto and Kramer. City Clerk also present.
Motion by Thompson, seconded Kramer to approve the April 4, 2022, Agenda with the addition of reviewing Mosquito Control of Iowa contract. Carried.
Motion by Thompson, seconded Zevenbergen to approve the payment of unpaid bills. Carried.

Motion by Thompson, seconded Otto to approve the first reading of proposed Ordinance No. 2022-04-04, i.e., “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF HOSPERS, IOWA, BY AMENDING PROVISIONS OF APPENDIX B PERTAINING TO WATER RATES.” with said Ordinance going into effect May 1, 2022. Roll call vote taken: aye Zevenbergen, aye Otto, aye Thompson, and aye Kramer. Vander Wilt absent from voting. Ordinance approved.
Motion by Zevenbergen, seconded Kramer to suspend the rules and approve the second and third readings of Ordinance No. 2022-04-04, “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF HOSPERS, IOWA, BY AMENDING PROVISIONS OF APPENDIX B PERTAINING TO WATER RATES.” Roll call vote taken: aye Zevenbergen, aye Otto, aye Thompson, and aye Kramer. Carried.
Discussion regarding state audit findings.

Motion by Zevenbergen, seconded Thompson to approve the Building Permit Application of John Schwartz. Carried.
Discussion regarding Summer Rec budget. Motion by Thompson, seconded Zevenbergen to approve $18,000.00 budget for shed needed for South Park equipment. Carried
Discussion regarding supplemental insurance options for city employees, will continue to explore options.
Motion by Zevenbergen, seconded Otto to purchase contract through Mosquito Control of Iowa. Carried.
Motion by Zevenbergen, seconded Otto to approve the April 4, 2022, meeting Minutes. Carried.
