Council Proceedings August 1, 2022

The Hospers City Council met in regular session on Monday, August 1, 2022, 7:00 PM at the Hospers City Hall with Mayor Dykstra presiding. Council members present: Thompson, Zevenbergen, Kramer, and Vander Wilt. The City Clerk was also present.

Motion by Zevenbergen, seconded Vander Wilt to approve the August 1, 2022 Agenda. Carried.

Motion by Thompson, seconded Kramer to approve the payment of unpaid bills. Carried.

Discussed the sale of 105 Hwy 60 Blvd and the potential to purchase the lot for the location of a new Hospers Fire & Rescue Facility.
Motion by Kramer, seconded Vander Wilt to offer Hospers Fire & Rescue volunteers a Hospers Swimming Pool family pass, Wellness Center family pass & Library pass. Carried.
Discussed city streets that need to be repaired. Council will proceed with receiving quotes for crack & seal and overlay.

Discussed the need to have flashing lights installed at the stop signs near the intersection of B40 and L22. Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Zevenbergen to contact the county to have flashing lights installed on the intersection. Carried.

Motion by Kramer, seconded Vander Wilt to approve Habitat for Humanity’s building permit application and waive the fee associated with the permit. Carried.

Reviewed Summer Rec Season Feedback.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Zevenbergen to approve the August 1, 2022 meeting Minutes. Carried.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Kramer to adjourn at 8:03PM. Carried.
