Council Proceedings November 21, 2022
The Hospers City Council met in regular session on Monday, November 21, 2022, 5:30 PM at the Hospers City Hall with Mayor Dykstra presiding. Council members present: Zevenbergen, Otto, Thompson, Kramer, and Vander Wilt. The City Clerk was also present.
Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Zevenbergen to approve the November 21, 2022 Agenda. Carried.
Tyler Evenhuis, City Maintenance Supervisor, present. Discussed current issues with City’s John Deere tractor and possibility to upgrade the tractor. Also discussed a $500 grant the City will be receiving from MidAmerican Energy; funds are to be spent for community betterment. Council advised to spend grant funds on South Side Park equipment.
Motion by Thompson, seconded Kramer to approve the payment of unpaid bills. Carried.

Discussed any city nuisance’s council observed. Will proceed with the City Clerk sending out letters to residents as needed.
Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Zevenbergen to approve Mark & Lyn Reekers’ building permit. Carried.
Motion by Zevenbergen, seconded Otto to approve Jake Hansen’s building permit. Carried.
Tabled Rachel Granstra’s building permit to have water retention reviewed.
Discussed the Employee Safety Manual the City intends to adopt. Tabled item for council to review the manual further.
Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Thompson to approve the November 21, 2022 meeting Minutes. Carried.
Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Kramer to adjourn at 6:23PM. Carried.
