Council Proceedings December 5, 2022

The Hospers City Council met in regular session on Monday, December 5, 2022, 7:00 PM at the Hospers City Hall with Mayor Dykstra presiding. Council members present: Zevenbergen, Otto, Thompson, and Vander Wilt. The City Clerk was also present.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Zevenbergen to approve the December 5, 2022 Agenda. Carried.

Brenda Klaassen, Hospers Librarian, present. Discussed the library’s year-end report and 2022 Survey Responses.

Motion by Thompson, seconded Otto to approve the payment of unpaid bills. Carried.

Motion by Thompson, seconded Zevenbergen to approve the November Month-End Report. Carried.

Motion by Otto, seconded Zevenbergen to trade the City’s 5525 John Deere tractor and purchase a New Holland Powerstar 100 from Town & Country Implement. Carried.

Discussed the need for ‘No Hunting’ signs to be posted on the Northern edge of city limits.

Motion by Thompson, seconded Otto to approve Rachel Granstra’s building permit. Carried.

Reviewed the Safety Manual for City of Hospers employees. Motion by Thompson, seconded Zevenbergen to approve the adoption of the Safety Manual. Carried.

Reviewed the City of Hospers Employee Handbook and discussed revisions. City Clerk will send the revised handbook to the City Attorney to review.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Zevenbergen to approve the December 5, 2022 meeting Minutes. Carried.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Thompson to adjourn at 7:56 PM. Carried.
