Council Proceedings March 6, 2023

The Hospers City Council met in regular session on Monday, March 6, 2023, 7:00 PM at the Hospers City Hall with Mayor Dykstra presiding. Council members present: Zevenbergen, Otto, Thompson, Kramer, and Vander Wilt. Council members absent: none. The City Clerk was also present.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Zevenbergen to approve the March 6, 2023 Agenda. Carried.

Motion by Thompson, seconded Kramer to approve the payment of unpaid bills. Carried.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Thompson to open the public hearing regarding the 2023-2024 Budget at 7:03PM. No oral or written comments submitted.

Motion by Thompson, seconded Vander Wilt to approve the February Month-End Report. Carried.

Motion by Otto, seconded Kramer to close the Public Hearing at 7:08 PM. Carried.

Motion by Thompson, seconded Vander Wilt to approve the 2023-2024 Budget and set the same as Resolution FY2024. Roll call vote taken: Zevenbergen aye, Otto aye, Thompson aye, Kramer aye, Vander Wilt aye. Resolution passed.

Motion by Zevenbergen, seconded Vander Wilt to approve Resolution 2023-03-06 regarding the sale of real estate to Fred’s Plumbing and Heating, Inc. Roll call vote taken: Zevenbergen aye, Kramer aye, Vander Wilt aye. Otto and Thompson abstained from voting. Resolution passed. Public hearing for sale will be March 20, 2023, at 5:30 PM.

Open Forum at 7:21 PM. No oral or written comments submitted.

Discussion regarding nuisances within the city. City Clerk will send out notices as needed.

Discussion regarding the Summer Rec Program. City Clerk will have an ad placed in the Siouxland Press regarding a Concession Stand Coordinator and Concession Stand Custodian.

Motion by Zevenbergen, seconded Vander Wilt to approve the March 6, 2023 meeting Minutes. Carried.

Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Kramer to adjourn at 7:58 PM. Carried.
