Council Proceedings August 21, 2023
The Hospers City Council met in regular session on Monday, August 21, 2023, 5:30 PM at the Hospers City Hall with Mayor Dykstra presiding. Council members present: Kooistra, Otto, Thompson, Kramer, and Vander Wilt. Council members absent: none. The City Clerk was also present.
Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Kramer to approve the August 21, 2023 Agenda. Carried.
Reviewed Tyler’s Monthly Report, no further action needed at this time.
Motion by Thompson, seconded Vander Wilt to approve the payment of unpaid bills. Carried.

Reviewed Harlan & Connie Van Otterloo’s building permit. Motion by Kramer, seconded Kooistra to approve said building permit. Carried.
Reviewed Kayla Wolf’s offer to purchase the Wellness Center facility. Motion by Thompson, seconded Kramer to approve the offer and pass Resolution No. 2023-08-21 proposing the disposal of an interest in real estate to Kayla Wolf by sale. Roll call vote taken: Kooistra aye, Otto aye, Thompson aye, Kramer aye, and Vander Wilt aye. Resolution passed. The Public Hearing will be held at the September 5, 2023 council meeting at 7:00 PM.
Discussed the need to hire a part-time custodian to clean the school facility. City Clerk will advertise the position.
Reviewed the letter from Ron & Sharon Young inquiring about the grass lot behind the school. Council is not interested in selling that property at this time. No further action needed.
Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Kooistra to approve the August 21, 2023 meeting Minutes. Carried.
Motion by Vander Wilt, seconded Kramer to adjourn at 5:58 PM. Carried.
